SOS Children's Villages is an international non-government organizaton that provides alternative family-based care for orphaned, abandoned and neglected children. It was founded in 1949 by Dr Hermann Gmeiner, an Austrian, whose vision is that children need the love of a family so that they can reach their fullest potential.

Opening of four Family Houses in SOS Children's Village Calbayog

On MAY 1, 2008, the SOS Calbayog unveiled the house markers for the four (4) newly constructed village houses financed by Hoegh namely: Casa Leif, Casa Morten, Casa Øistein and Casa Sebjørn. This event coincides with the baptism of the newly admitted child, house blessing, and the turn over ceremony of the house and children to the house mother.

Visits to SOS Children's Villages 2007 and 2008

For many years now, Leif Hoegh and Co. gives generous support to the SOS Children's Villages in the Philippines. Starting with the first project in SOS Lipa, then donation to the SOS Cebu until recently another donation was made for the construction of houses in Calboyog City. SOS Children's Village is an international child welfare organization providing long term care for orphans and children in need.
